Truyère gorges and Sarrans lake with beautiful and pitoresque landscape
Description
Following the successive dams of Grandval and Lanau, a part of the Truyère gorges forms the Sarrans lake between Cantal and Aveyron. A natural and picturesque landscape with magnificent viewpoints to discover.
The site is classified Natura 2000.
Gorges to visit with several stops:
- the village and the bridge of Tréboul de Sainte-Marie,
- the rock of Turlande in Paulhenc,
- the peninsula of Laussac in Thérondels,
- the discovery area and viewpoint at the Bousquet belvedere, Argence en Aubrac (above the Sarrans dam).
Boat and kayak rentals: Camping La Source, Laussac (end of June - end of August 05 65 66 05 62).
Tyrolean traverse on the Presqu'ile de Laussac in summer (information: Office de Tourisme du Carladez in Mur-de-Barrez at 05 65 66 10 16).
Swimming : Presqu'ïle de Laussac (supervised in summer).
