Pierrefort
Loop
All year round.

Long track from the Cantal volcano to the Truyère Valley. Contrasted nature and beautiful landscapes.

Strating from Pierrefort at the tourist office, near the church.

From a fairly regular profile up to the larch wood of Lachamp, you will take a long descent which will lead you next to the Puy Renel to arrive at the hamlet of Chabannes (orientation table of Cheyla at a few hundred meters).
After the picturesque village of Oradour, you descend to the Malbec stream.
Then, a small steep slope leads you to the hamlet of Falitoux before starting a very steep descent that will take you through the charming village of Sainte-Marie and end at the Pont de Tréboul.
To reach Pierrefort, a 5 km effort with a significant difference in altitude will be necessary.

Exceptionally, during the lake emptying of the Sarrans dam, you can discover the old Treboul bridge dating from the 15th century.
To see: the church at Sainte Marie with its stained glass windows signed by Jean Cocteau
